I was born in Seattle and grew up in Washington State. Growing up, I was always interested in art. At age 11, my uncle gave me a “paint by number” set for my birthday. To this very day, I remember that gift as my favorite growing up.
Always interested in drawing, I took art classes in high school. Following a tremendous personal loss in my twenties, I enrolled at Green River CC to study art. Studying under Dr. Bernard Bleha, this led to an AA in Art and included an overseas study at the University of London.
Recent workshops with Jerry Stitt and Deanne Lemly (both understudies with Sergei Bongart) revived my passion for painting. Light, shadows, vibrant color and intriguing subjects are my desired results. My favorite quote: “I love what I do and, when others love it too, it is for me a fabulous gift.”. I am blessed to live on the saltwater sound of Gig Harbor, which inspires my work.
Water color is my medium of choice. I am a member of the Peninsula Art League in Gig Harbor, and the Northwest Watercolor Society. My work can be seen in several galleries, corporate offices, service organizations, restaurants, and private collections.
