Vino Amore!

I just taught Middle School students how to emboss metal to make masks and Bas Relief sculptures. I really enjoyed the metal working, so when I saw this great wine rack, I immediately wanted to enhance it with some copper tooling. Naturally, the wine related elements and grape vines came to mind! Sturdy (black painted) hardwood wine rack holds 24 bottles of wine plus upper rack for stemware. (36” tall, 31 ½” wide, 16” deep) Embossed Copper over the table top plus additional copper grape leaf corners. This piece will be stunning in the dining room, bar area or your wine cellar!

Lepidopterist Chair

Wonderful found thrift items restored, combined, and embellished to create a one of a kind Steam Punk inspired antique chair with butterfly theme. It comes with Bronze Lamp and supply side pack for your favorite Lepidopterist (person who studies butterflies) - but also would be a great chair for avid reader or a hobbyist who wants good light for their activities. Whether you take part in Steam Punk events, or just are an individualist who needs a good seat to pursue your interests- this chair will enhance your studies and serve as conversation piece for years to come!

Wishin' I was Fishin'

As soon as I saw the boat shaped shelf in a 2nd hand store, I knew I needed to make a “fishing memories” chair. The search was on for a chair that would accommodate the shelf unit becoming the chair back- Thank you St Vinnies! I “merged” the shelf unit with chair, made a seat (using my hand painted scene of Lake Symmington on heavy canvas), and painted legs with a water “camo” pattern. Next I found our old tackle box, altered & painted old fishing supplies to serve as embellishments. Old fishing maps and illustrations were hand painted to serve as wallpaper for the boat bottom. The shelves are great places to put framed photos of your favorite fishermen, or the trophy fish you caught last summer! Although you can sit on this chair, it is meant to be a decorative accent for your home or office, and should be kept dry (the canvas and muslin parts could mildew or rot if kept damp).

19th Hole Pub Table

It started with a great maple topped Pub Table from NW Furniture Bank (Thanks!) and I combined it with the same type of 36 gauge aluminum that I use for teaching tooling in the schools. I’ve been hearing a lot about the upcoming US Open at Chambers Bay- and decided on a golf theme. I found a list of unique golf terms and expressions on line- and that was the direct inspiration for my tooling used on top of the table.

 Milano Toscano

I found this nicely crafted metal chair at my local Goodwill store. It reminded me of Milano contemporary style chairs that I saw in an expensive store in Seattle. I loved the “window frame” effect of the back structure of the chair. I remembered the view out my bedroom window on a trip to Tuscany. I decided to recover seat in black canvas with a “window framed” view of Tuscany done with leather applique. (I’m glad I just got a new sewing machine to handle the thick leather and heavy thread!) This will be a great accent chair- especially if you have ever been to Italy- or would like to go there!
