Sakana no isu

Sakana no isu is a piece that combines a traditional Japanese koi painting with a modern style. The solid seat represents the static, irreversible past, which is reflected by the art style. The balustered backrest, as apposed to the seat, represents a fluid and changeable future and was therefore painted in a modern style and means to incorporate the chair’s differentiable environment.
