Swenson, Erica
Having no formal background in art, I simply love to create. I draw inspiration from the world around me, and continually find I’m particularly drawn to warm and inviting colors. I use paper, wool felt, spray paint, embroidery, fabric scraps, and recycled finds to create my art. My favorite part of making something is when I know who it’s for and get to design it with that person in mind. I work for a great local non-profit, REACH Ministries, using my spare time at home to unleash the creative ideas that build throughout the week.

Gradient Sun Light

There is something majestic about every single sunset. Our kitchen table looks out into the west and every night (that the clouds don’t block it!) I am awestruck by what has been created by the sun. Never the same, and often intermixed with looming rain clouds, it’s still beautiful. My piece is just a glimpse of that constant change and shift of what the sun looks like throughout the day and into the evening as it sets.
