Jean’s art often references the psychological and cultural meaning of play as a fundamental human activity that invites competition, cheating, and opportunities to experience luck.  In work such as this child's chair she rescues beautiful found metal and obsessively covers a wooden form with patterned and embossed tin. The focus is a game, and the chair becomes a gameboard.
