Waller, Lola/ Dubsky, Sandy

Lola Waller is a watercolor artist based in the Pacific Northwest town of Gig Harbor, a waterfront community and fishing village not far from Tacoma and Seattle, Washington.

A recent workshop with Ron Ranson, famed international artist from England now residing in Oregon, author of 25 books and having taught on all continents, has enhanced her repertoire of instruction in watercolor. Lola’s artwork captures in washes of color the rustic beauty and maritime heritage of the waterscapes, landscapes, cityscapes and interesting characters of this region.

Lola’s work can be seen at galleries in Gig Harbor, Port Orchard, the Tacoma Narrows Airport, and Seattle.  She has been featured artist at Waters Edge Gallery and Kimball Gallery, both in Gig Harbor, and at Catholic Community Services in Tacoma.  She is a member of the Peninsula Art League and the Northwest Watercolor Society.

Sandy says: Having grown up in the country, I developed an early appreciation of creation's bounty.  As a young girl riding my pony through woods and fields, I enjoyed the sights, smells and textures of nature on Whidbey Island.  Years later, after college, traveling and two careers, I found pleasure in caring for the gardens I planted in Enumclaw.  I was delighted when peonies, roses, hydrangeas and delphinium thrived.  By experimenting with unusual foliage, I found that the arrangements I made took on a garden-fresh, natural style.  My first attempt at selling flowers was when my sister and I created dried hydrangea wreaths for sale to Seattle boutiques one Christmas.  I soon learned that creating floral arrangements that made people happy brought me great personal satisfaction and joy.

After attending floral design school, I established a flower studio and began creating in my private design shop.  I've been fortunate to have a creative staff join me in providing arrangements that mirror our customers' vision for the special days in their lives.  In addition to using our own grown flowers and greens, we take our pick from the best products grown commercially each season.

If you're inspired by our designs, call to make an appointment to meet with me for your wedding or event. Complimentary consultations are held at my cottage, City Perk or a Starbucks near you.  Please call me, Sandy Dubsky, designer and owner at 253-332-6925.
