Kilen, Megan
Megan Elise Kilen is a native Washingtonian and long-time resident of Tacoma. She is the descendant of a long line of creative people including her Great-Grandmother, Elise de Celles Beaton, a ballet teacher and artist from the Carmel area of California. Her family tree includes many aspiring artists, photographers, and musicians.
Megan’s inspiration comes from the beauty she finds in the everyday and in the small details around her. Her favorite artists include Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, Henri Matisse, Edgar Degas, Auguste Renior, and Maxfield Parish. Megan also enjoys the flowing lines and swirls of the Art Nouveau movement, which you can often see echoed in her work.
"Art is at the same time an appreciation of what is around you and an expression of what is inside you." says Megan. She believes in art with a purpose, whether to support a charity, brighten an environment, or bring a smile to someone's face. Being a self-described "chronic optimist" her work cannot help but be bright, cheerful, and full of exuberance.

Resplendence

It’s in the corner of a dusty attic. There – between the broken rocking horse and the old chest of drawers. That gleam of gold caught in the sunlight, peeking out from under a blanket. Can you see it? An old treasure, what a find! It looks like chandeliers, ballrooms, sweeping gowns, and formal dinners. An old peacock stretching out his feathers to transport you to another world. A world of luxury, attention to detail, and vibrant color. A little piece of resplendence plucked from the past and waiting for you. Indulge yourself!
