Rickard, Monique

Monique Rickard is an aspiring artist and illustrator from the charming town of Eatonville, Washington.  Her preferred mediums include acrylics and oils, however she also enjoys weaving with natural grasses, drum making, experimenting with airbrush and charcoal effects.  She is inspired the most by classic children’s stories and portraitures.

A grateful member of Pacific Gallery Artists, Monique is eager to participate in multi-skill opportunities, and learn new styles and techniques.  Her current focus is on hand painted clogs and pursuing higher education in the fine arts.  When she is not painting, she can be found in quiet meditation on the medicine wheel, and encouraging her 7 year old daughter to believe in her dreams.

No, No Kiddo

This chair was inspired by my grandmother.  She is currently living in another state, and I miss her very much.  When I asked about visiting, she was embarrassed to say she didn’t have room for a guest, not even a couch to sleep on.  My grandmother and I are very close; she loves cats, and especially my daughter.  No, No Kiddo stars my daughter at age two, and Tiger, an old kitty with attitude.  I hope the cause has touched your heart as it has mine.  God Bless.
