Healy, Renee

Renee Healy is a Tacoma native who creates in all media forms but primarily in watercolor. As a multi-media artist anything creative sparks her interest and once in the zone of developing a piece, the trance is overwhelmingly zen-like and healing. It is with this philosophy Renee' creates any piece of art and a driftwood bench or chair is nothing different, especially when it has come from the earth after touching and mingling with the water. www.reneehealy.com

Mike Healy is a retired Administrator with the Department of Social and Health Services, an accomplished fast pitch pitcher, wood worker and all around stained glass aficionado. Once retired from his jobs and pitching Mike began to explore his creative side and has found the love of implementing a design to be more and more interesting as the days wore on. He has a workshop he putters in out in the bustling area of Key Peninsula and is always looking at nature and gardening as a way to relax.

This bench was made with all found objects from the Tacoma waterfront and Purdy spit. The leather was a gift from my Dad and adhering everything was from the use of found items such as square nails from Missouri and copper wire for decorative functioning.
