Rurik, Dion

After years away from my hometown of Tacoma, I resettled in Gig Harbor with my wonderful husband where we have been for the past 28 years.  Our family includes four amazing young adult sons along with their four wives/fiancées, all of whom bless us in many ways.

My passions include gardening, quilting, riding, camping (especially in National Parks), and hiking.  I also enjoy working with several community non-profits as well as a young moms group at Harbor Covenant Church.

I love thinking of ways to use old found objects for planters, and when I saw this wonderful chair come into NWFB, I immediately thought of using it for a planter.  The chair was in great condition except for the worn out seat, so we removed the seat and added the happy pot of flowers.

The beautiful 1930’s era quilt is from Amish country.  The pattern is Grandmother’s Flower Garden - a perfect compliment to the chair.
